Ministerial Decree No. HP 22306/1075/E103 of 2007 establishing objectives, target values and assessments thresholds regarding the concentrations of arsenic, cadmium, mercury, nickel and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in ambient air, in compliance with Directive 2004/107/EC.

The Decree aims at implementing the provisions of articles 7 and 8 of Law No. 1650/86 “on the protection for the environment”. It also aims at harmonizing the Greek legislative frame with the provisions of Directive 2004/107/EC and also certain provisions of Council Directive 96/62/EC on ambient air quality assessment and management, so as to ensure that appropriate measures are taken in order to avoid adverse effects on human health and the environment, which might arise from the ambient concentrations of arsenic, cadmium, mercury, nickel and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in ambient air. The Decree is composed as follows: objectives (art. 1); definitions (target value, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, upper assessment threshold, etc.) (art. 2); target values – measures for achieving them (art. 3); assessment of ambient air concentrations and deposition rates (art. 4); public information (art. 5); transmission of information and reports to the Commission (art. 6); sanctions (art. 7). Five Annexes included in the text constitute integral part of this Decree.
