Abstract
The purpose of this Law is to govern the system of protection and integrated conservation of nature and its values. By the text nature means the overall biological and landscape diversity. The text contains 296 articles divided into 14 Parts. Part 1 deals with the general provisions and terms employed in the text. Part 2 notes that nature protection and conservation shall be carried out in compliance with the provisions of this Act and international treaties to which the Republic of Croatia is a Party. Part 3 is dedicated to the protections of natural values; Part 4 to the concessions and concession licences in protected areas and speleological formations. Further, Part 5 deals with the nature planning and organization; Part 6 with making the inventories and monitoring of all components of biological and landscape diversity; Part 7 with the access to information and public participation in issues related to the protection of nature (except classified as strictly confidential by an act); Part 8 with the usage of environmental labels. Part 9 aims to promote of nature protection education. Part 10 addresses acknowledgments and awards for the achievements in the field of nature protection; Part 11 deals with financing issues and Part 12 with the supervision. Finally, Part 13 sets out penalty provisions and Part 14 the final and transitional provisions.
