Abstract
This Regulation for the purpose of rational management and conservation of tuna lays down the following issues: government quotas; catch quotas and total allowable tuna catch quotas for all forms of fishing and fishing gear; measures in fishing and allowed tools and equipment; management measures over the capacity of fishing fleet; temporary ban on the use of certain fishing gear; minimum catch size; sport tuna fishing (Thunnus thynnus), fishing swordfish (Xiphias gladius) and Mediterranean spearfish (Tetrapturus belone); rules for recreational fishing of tuna (Thunnus thynnus), swordfish (Xiphias gladius) and Mediterranean spearfish (Tetrapturus belone); allowed overall breeding capacity; permissible total input quantities of tuna on farms; measures for the performance of breeding; reporting obligations and delivery of catch, transfer, transhipment, landings and aquaculture issues; records of catch and cross-checking data; specific market measures.
The Annex is an integral part of this Regulation.
