Regulation on cereals and cereal products.

Type of law

This Regulation defines the general quality standards for cereals intended for the final consumer (for immediate consumption) and cereal products placed on the market, and strictly related to the: names, definitions and general requirements to be met; type and amount of ingredients and other substances used in production and processing; additional labelling requirements.
This text transposes and respects the provisions contained in the following documents: Directive (EU) 2015/1535 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 September 2015 establishing a procedure to provide information in the field of technical regulations and rules on information society services; and Regulation (EC) No. 764/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 July 2008 laying down the procedures related to the application of certain national technical rules to products lawfully marketed in other Member States and its repealing Decision No. 3052/95/EC.
The rules here prescribed will not be applied on products that are lawfully manufactured and/or marketed in other Member States of the European Union or Turkey, or lawfully manufactured in a country belonging to the European Free Trade Association that is party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area.

Entry into force notes
This Regulation enters into force eight days after its publication in the Official Gazette except for the provisions of the article 25 (paragraph 2) that shall enter into force on 1 February 2018.
