Abstract
This Regulation, for the purpose of rational management and protection of bluefin tuna, here prescribes: the distribution of the state quota between commercial fishing and non-commercial fishing as well as sub-categories of commercial and non-commercial fishing for the year 2024; fishing capacity in commercial fishing; rules related to bycatch; time limits. The national quota in 2024 represents the total catch quota for bluefin tuna fishing. The distribution of the state quota into commercial and non-commercial fishing categories and their subcategories is shown in the table in Annex 1. The capacity of the fishing fleet for the targeted catch of bluefin tuna is adjusted to the assigned quota in such a way that the total active capacity of the fleet per fishing gear does not exceed the assigned quota in relation to the catch rate (Catch rate) and is shown in the table in Annex 2.
