Abstract
This Decree lays down the necessary measures to be taken in case of diagnostication of the swine vesicular disease (SVD), suspect of infection and infected animals. This Decree gives provisions regarding the duties of the animal keeper and the veterinarian servicing the animals, of the official veterinarian and of the chief district veterinarian, of the local and national food-chain safety and animal health office. It contains rules concerning local quarantines, protection areas and monitoring districts. The utilization of meat of slaughtered animals, the neutralization of carcasses, manure and feedstuff waste are ruled as well as use restriction of feedstuff and disinfection of premises. There are provisions also regarding actions to be taken in case of wild animals. Rules regarding the repopulation of swine farms after lifting the local quarantine are also foreseen.
