Abstract
This Regulation, implementing provisions of article 36 E paragraph 2 of the Law no. 41 of 2014, concerns measures for importing livestock and animal products from Country or Zone within a Country of importation. The Regulation defines the following relevant terms: animals, as creatures whose entire or part of their life cycle is on land, water and/or air; livestock; animal products. The Regulation concerns the importation of animal and animal products under the following conditions: consequences of disasters; the need to stabilise national stock reserve or supply; lack of meat availability; importation of the following species: cows and buffalos; importation of livestock originating from a foot and mouth disease free zone, determined by the World Animal Health Agency; specific restrictions for importation from countries that are not yet free from foot and mouth disease, but provide a control programme based on the results of risk analysis, ensure adequate packaging and labelling requirements and animal products safety treatment.
