Abstract
These Regulations provide for protective measures with regard to pet birds (i.e. means a live bird other than poultry, as defined in the third indent of Article 1 of Commission Decision No. 2000/666/EC) imported from third countries (in order to control the spreading of avian influenza. “Third country” means a country (other than Andorra, Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, San Marino or Switzerland) that is not a member state of the European Community. A person may import no more than 4 pet birds that comply with Article 1(2) and 1(3) of the Commission Decision.
