Abstract
These Regulations stipulate that dietary foods for special medical purposes may be placed on the market only if they comply with the provisions laid down in these Regulations and in Commission Directive 1999/21/EC. They prescribe rules and standards for the formulation and use of dietary foods for special medical purposes and classify them in three categories. Other provisions of these Regulations concern, among other things, labelling and enforcement. They also define offences and prescribe e penalties for such offences.
