Abstract
Pursuant to Directive 89/398/EEC concerning foodstuffs intended for particular nutritional uses, this Directive lays down compositional and labelling requirements for infant formulae and follow-on formulae intended for use by infants in good health in the Community. Member States are required to give effect to the principles and aims of the International Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes dealing with marketing, information and responsibilities of health authorities.
