Abstract
The scope of the Act is to clarify objectives of forestry policy, and to ensure improvement in forest resources and national land conservation.
The Act is divided into 7 Chapters: General Provisions (1); Basic Plan for Forest and Forestry (2); Policies for the Fulfillment of Multifunctional Roles of Forest (3); Policies for the Sustainable and Sound Development of Forestry (4); Policies for Securing Supply and Use of Forest Products (5); Administrative Organs and Relevant Bodies (6); The Forest Policy Council (7).
The Act provides for the establishment of a basic plan for forest and forestry for the promotion of a comprehensive and systematic implementation of the policies on forest and forestry. The State shall take measures for the promotion of systematic afforestation, development of forest roads, forest conservation, development and dissemination of technology, etc.
The Act provides for the establishment of the Forest Policy Council and defines its composition.
