Ministerial Decree No. 773 validating the Regulation on protection of the national territory against quarantine objects.

This Ministerial Decree shall have as its purpose the state arrangements for the protection of the national territory against quarantine objects with a view of identification, localization and liquidation thereof, and also enforcement of plant quarantine legislation. It shall be applicable to: (a) seeds and planting material; (b) collections of insects, pests and pathogens; (c) vegetables, fruits and edible nuts; (d) cereals and grains; (e) packages; (f) territory and premises of peasant farms; and (g) agricultural land and land of other categories. Import of produce subject to quarantine inspection shall be carried out in the presence of quarantine certificate issued by the competent authority of the country of origin. The following commodities shall not be authorized for import: (a) produce subject to quarantine inspection without quarantine authorization and phytosanitary certificate; (b) produce subject to quarantine inspection infected with pests; (c) soil and living plants rooted in soil; and (d) pests, pathogens and weeds.
