Abstract
This Act establishes the Lesotho Electricity Authority and defines its functions and powers and provides with respect to its administration and internal organization. The Act also provides with respect to licensing of "regulated activities" in the electricity sector and related matters. Regulated activities in the sector are the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity. In exercise of its duty the Authority shall have regard to environmental standards.
The Authority is established as a body corporate and shall be governed by a Board. The Authority shall, among other things: (a) review the provision of electricity supplies in Lesotho: (b) issue, monitor and enforce licences pursuant to this Act.
