Abstract
This Law consisting of 22 articles aims to establish the Public Authority for Water, responsible for proposing the general water policy and prioritizing projects that benefit from water, whether for drinking, agriculture, industry, or other purposes. It conducts scientific and applied water studies and research at the national level to ensure the proper utilization of existing water sources and the exploration of new ones. Additionally, it examines proposals from ministries, institutions, and public bodies regarding water utilization, considering location, project objectives, and conditions for water source exploitation. The Authority also proposes water legislation and oversees its implementation in collaboration with relevant authorities. Finally, it supervises the execution of projects related to water extraction and utilization to ensure compliance with issued decisions. The Authority is managed by a Board of Directors - responsible for its affairs and drawing up the general policy -, a General Manager, and a number of public departments.
