Government Resolution No. HG588/2023 amending Government Resolution No. HG938/2018 validating the Regulation on the procedure for crossing the state border with goods, subject to control by the National Agency for Food Safety.

National Agency for Food Safety based on risk indicators and historical data regarding non-compliance with requirements for certain food groups, as well as guarantees provided by the competent authorities of the countries of origin, annually develops and approves a border surveillance and control program related to food safety. Inspectors of the Agency check the identity of at least 10% of transported food products of non-animal origin and products used as ingredients for the preparation of food products intended for human consumption.
