Abstract
This Law defines the necessary methods for the identification and registration of live animals on the territory of Montenegro.
Register of holdings, as here prescribed, is required for all farms where animals are bred or kept.
Animal identification is required for domestic animals raised on farms, and animal factories, as well as for other animals in order to improve the control of animal health, combat and eradicate the animal diseases, improve traffic control over the domestic and other different animals, mark the beef and meat of other animals in order to monitor the food chain, control of imports and exports, residue control and welfare of the animals housed/kept.
The Law is divided into V Chapters and 29 articles, including the offences and related penalties.
