Abstract
This Law regulates the conditions, manner and procedure for conducting research and production of hydrocarbons on the territory of the Montenegro, as well as other issues of relevance for exploration and production of oil and gas. The Law consists of 11 Chapters divided into 75 articles.
This Law establishes that all carbohydrates are natural wealth in state property (if located on land and territorial sea domain/deep sea bed).
Exploration and hydrocarbon production activities may be carried out by an economic, legal or natural person on the basis of concession contracts concluded in accordance with this Law.
Activities object of this text shall also include planning, preparation and activities related to exploration, development and production of hydrocarbons from basins, as well as construction, use, installation and removal of necessary facilities and plants. Zoning or division of land parcels is provided in article 8; security measures are provided in article 47; restoration of the previous state in article 48; damage compensation in article 52; inspection supervision in article 70; offences and penalties in Chapter IX.
