Regulation on the manner and procedure for import and transit, list of third countries from which import and transit is approved, form and content of the veterinary health certificate or other documents accompanying the consignment with live animals, aquaculture and products of animal origin, as well as on the manner and procedure for carrying out inspection on import and transit of consignments with live animals, aquaculture and products of animal origin.

This Regulation prescribes the manner and procedure for import and/or transit of shipments containing live animals, aquaculture and products of animal origin, including the rules for their correct inspection and examination, also on designated border crossing points. This text also provides for the list of third countries from which is approved to import and transit the consignments of live animals, aquaculture and animal origin products, as well as the form and content of diverse veterinary health certificates or other necessary documents (inspection reports and notifications, health certificates, and other) that have to accompany such shipments on the national territory.
This Regulation harmonizes the national legislation with the provisions contained in Commission Regulation (EC) No 282/2004 of 18 February 2004 introducing a document for the declaration of, and veterinary checks on, animals from third countries entering the Community; and several other, see page 1 of this publication.
