Decree No. 41/2020 on the revision of Decree No. 8/2018, creating the National Institution for the Development and Management of Fisheries Infrastructures (INFRAPESCA).

This Decree, consisting of 25 articles divided into five Chapters, reviews the National Institution for the Development and Management of Fisheries Infrastructures (INFRAPESCA), created by Decree No. 8/2018. INFRAPESCA is a port authority aimed at developing, managing and performing controls on infrastructures and equipment in order to support fishing and aquaculture, including auctions, sub auctions and harbours activities. The sectoral supervision of INFRAPESCA is exercised by the Minister who oversees the area of fisheries and aquaculture and includes, namely, the following activities: a) approving the general policies, the plans, as well as the respective budgets; b) approving the Internal Regulations of INFRAPESCA; c) proposing the staff; d) controlling the institution's performance; e) extinguishing the effects of illegal acts carried out by the bodies of INFRAPESCA in matters within its competence; f) exercising disciplinary power over the members of the bodies of INFRAPESCA; g) carrying out inspection or auditing of the acts carried out by the bodies; h) carrying out of inquiries to the services of INFRAPESCA; i) proposing to the Prime Minister the appointment of the Director General and the Deputy Director General of INFRAPESCA; etc.
