Abstract
This Act provides rules for the generation, conversion, transmission, trading and distribution of energy. It does not apply to the acquisition of ownership rights or the right of use of waterfalls and the regulation and development of watercourses.
The Act, among other things, sets out procedures for the granting of various licences for the generating and supply of energy. An application shall be submitted to the licensing authority and applications that are covered by Chapter 14 of the Planning and Building Act shall be accompanied by an environmental impact assessment. The Act also provides with respect emergency preparedness.
