Abstract
The Decree consists of 13 sections divided into 3 Chapters: Scope, application sphere and definitions (I); Conditions for importation (II); Final provisions (III).
The scope of this Decree is to prevent the spreading of infectious diseases and to establish sanitary requirements in relation with the importation of fresh meat and meat products. It applies to trade within countries of the European Economic Area and with selected third countries. Conditions are specified for each type of meat (e.g. bovine meat, pork, rabbit meat, goat meat, etc). Reference is made to various Council Directives.
