Abstract
This Directive lays down requirements concerning public health and animal health problems affecting the production and placing on the market of rabbit meat and farmed game meat. Each Member State shall draw up a list of the establishments approved by it and each establishment shall have a veterinary approval number. Animals must undergo ante-mortem inspection before they are slaughtered. The public health marking must be made under the responsibility of the official veterinarian and a health certificate must accompany the meat.
