Abstract
The Decree consists of 24 sections divided into 5 Chapters: Scope, application sphere and definitions (I);Importation and exportation of fresh meat (II); Importation and exportation of meat products (III); Marking, certification and control (IV); Final provisions (V).
The scope of this Decree is to prevent the spreading of infectious diseases and to establish sanitary requirements in relation with the importation and exportation of fresh meat and meat products. It applies to trade with countries of the European Economic Area. Conditions are specified for each type of meat (e.g. bovine meat, pork, rabbit meat, goat meat, etc). Reference is made to various Council Directives. Article 17 provides for health certification before dispatch of meat.
