Decree relative to marking of fishing gear (No. 1101 of 1989).

This Decree is composed of 27 sections divided into 4 Chapters: Application sphere (I); General provisions relative to marking (II); Special provisions for marking beyond 4 nautical miles (III); Special provisions for marking in Finnmark inside 4 nautical miles (IV); General provisions (V).
The Decree applies to the marking of fishing gear in marine waters. It applies to Norwegian vessels fishing in marine waters under Norwegian jurisdiction and to foreign vessels fishing in the economic zone. Fixed and floating fishing gear shall be provided with the vessel district mark (sect. 2). Provisions of Chapter III regulate the marking of fixed gear which is placed in whole or in part in the economic zone and floating gear in marine waters.
