Abstract
It is not permitted in 2014 for Norwegian vessels to fish and land capelin in the northeastern Atlantic Ocean and the Barents Sea (ICES statistical areas I and II). It is however permitted from 20 January to catch a maximum of 38 980 tons of capelin in the area south of 74 degrees north and west of 32 degrees east, with the exception of a fishery protection zone around Svalbard, and with the restrictions at any time required by article 16. Of the total allowable catch, 452 tons shall be allocated to research and educational purposes. The document includes regulations for group-fishing. The quantity that can be fished by each vessel may not be transferred to another vessel. It is also forbidden to receive and to land catches that are caught by another vessel.
