Abstract
This Decree-Law, composed of 23 articles and 5 Annexes, introduces into the National legal order the Council Directive No. 91/68/CEE ruling on animal health conditions governing intra-Community trade in ovine and caprine animals, as further regulated by the Council Directive No. 2003/50/CE, of 11 June 2003. In particular, the Decree-Law rules on: trade requirements, minimum health requirements, classification of animals devoted to slaughter, fattening or reproduction, animal transport, certification procedures, control measures, sanctions for non-compliance. The five Annexes deal with: Zoning, Official Testing of Contagious Epididymitis Survey, Templates of health certification, and Trials for B. Melitensis assessment.
