Abstract
This Decree-Law approves EC Council Directive No. 95/71 of 22 December regulating sanitary procedures for the production and placing on the market of fish products (including fresh and salt water aquatic animals). It consists of 9 articles and 1 Annex establishing sanitary requirements to be satisfied by fishing and aquaculture products (kept on board of certain vessels) in order to be placed on the market. Offences and penalties are specified in the text. Controls and relevant competencies shall be under the General Direction of Veterinary (DGV). The Annex consists of 11 chapters specifying the Regulation on hygiene procedures to be applied and requirements to be met in order to perform the aforementioned activity.
