Decree-Law No. 45/94 on planning procedures for water resources.

The purpose of this Decree-Law on the planning of water resources is the enhancement, protection and balanced management of national water resources, and the promotion of uniform regional development through a rational utilization of such resources. Rational exploitation and the optimization of resources are among the objectives of this Decree-Law. It specifies duties and compositions of national administrations responsible for carrying out water resource plannings, etc. It also gives geographical delimitations of national territories ivolved in the aforementioned water plannings and defines zones under a special regime of protection.
