Abstract
The present Law establishes legal basis for ensuring radiation safety of the population for the purpose of the protection of public health. The document consists of VII Chapters that contain 30 Articles. Chapter I (arts. 1-4) lays down general provisions. Chapter II (Arts.5-6) establishes plenary powers of the Russian Federation and of the Regions of the Russian Federation in the field of ensuring radiation safety of the population. Chapter III (Arts.7-12) regards state management in the field of ensuring radiation safety, state survey and control over its ensuring. Chapter IV (Arts.13-18) establishes general requirements for ensuring radiation safety. Chapter V (Arts.19-21) regards ensuring radiation safety in case of nuclear disaster. Chapter VI (Arts.22-27) establishes rights and duties of citizens and social associations in the sphere of ensuring radiation safety. Chapter VII (Arts.20-30) establishes liability for non-fulfilment of requirements for ensuring radiation safety.
