Abstract
Strategy of social and economic development of the Far East and the Baikal region for the period up to 2025 is a regional cross-sectoral policy document, which determines the implementation of the geopolitical task of holding the population in the Far East and in the Baikal region due to the formation of a developed economy and a comfortable human environment in the regions of the Russian Federation located on this territory, as well as the achievement of the average Russian level of socio-economic development. One of the priorities of the Strategy shall be preservation and support of the traditional way of life of the indigenous peoples of the Russian Federation. In the field of agriculture shall be adopted the following measures: (a) implementation of megaprojects as the basis for a technological breakthrough in the agricultural sector and, first of all, contributing to the increase of livestock as the main core agricultural production; (b) support of agricultural and processing enterprises in Yakutia; (c) maximum use of marine biological resources, promotion of aquaculture, fishing vessels construction and developing new technologies for the reproduction of biological resources; and (d) traditional forms of nature management (reindeer husbandry, hunting and fishing) by indigenous peoples.
