Ministerial Decree No. 307 validating the Regulation on state monitoring of water bodies.

The Regulation establishes the modalities of the state monitoring of water bodies. The purpose of the state monitoring of water bodies consists in data collection and forecast of the negative processes that could have impact on water quality and the state of water bodies, elaboration and carrying into effect of preventive measures against the negative consequences of these processes, the assessment of the effectiveness of the current water protection arrangements, informational coverage of management and control in the field of use and protection of water bodies. The state monitoring of water bodies includes: 1) regular observation of the state of water bodies, quantitative and qualitative indices of surface water and groundwater; 2) collection, storage, replenishment and processing of data of the observation; 3) creation and keeping databases; 4) valuation and prognostication of the changes of the state of water bodies, quantitative and qualitative indices of surface water and groundwater.
