Abstract
This Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food lays down minimum standards for the protection of livestock and registration procedure for keeping laying hens. These provisions apply to all animals kept for farming purposes, including fish, amphibians and reptiles. Animal breeder must do everything what is possible to ensure the welfare of animals in his care and to prevent causing pain, injury, illness or behavioral disturbances of animals. Animal breeder must regularly request veterinary assistance and care of sick or injured animals and veterinary assistance during birth. The breeder must also ensure separate accommodation in suitable conditions with dry comfortable bedding if necessary for sick or injured animals. This Regulation is composed of 57 articles divided into the following Sections: General provisions (Sec. 1); General conditions for all animals (Sec. 2); Special conditions for individual types of animals (Sec. 3); Transitional and final provisions (Sec. 4).
