Abstract
This Act establishes the Penal Code for Suriname. The Act concerns: scope of application of the Criminal Law; punishment and measures; exclusion, reduction or increase of criminality; participation and concurrence in criminal offences. The Act covers the following relevant crimes: crimes against the general safety of persons and goods, including: setting fires, causing explosion or intentional flood, damaging any electrical installation; damaging or obstructing any public land or waterway; introducing any substance into a well, pump, spring, trench, creek, or into a drinking water facility intended for the public good, in order to make water harmful to life or health; selling, offering for sale, delivering or distributing goods harmful to life or health; theft of livestock from the pasture; selling, offering for sale, or delivering adulterated foodstuffs, drinkables, or medicines; destruction and damage to property and killing of animals.
