Abstract
The new article 32/A, is inserted after article 32, appointing the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs for conducting activities relative to permits and licences on livestock health and food safety, and for inspecting and supervising animal husbandry premises. Further insertions are also made to article 33: the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs is authorized to implement a monitoring plan on pharmacological and toxic materials that are prohibited and/or tolerated to a certain limit at livestock and animal food products. Slaughtering animals, on which the residues or traces of the above mentioned compounds are identified, is forbidden. If the level exceeds the limit, detailed investigation shall be carried out in the farm and subsequent measures taken. There are also some additions to article 53, i.e. the use of livestock fattening agents with pharmacological collateral and toxic effects is forbidden.
