Abstract
This Notification makes several amendments in the Notification No. 2016/35 on commercial fishing. Article 21 is amended regarding time prohibitions for catching bluefin tuna. Article 24 is amended regarding prohibited fishing gear and methods deployed in fishing vessels for swordfish. Moreover, this Notification amends Article 40 to regulate the catch of european eel. To this end, the quota for european eel is determined by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. Time prohibitions for catching european eel are determined and shall be valid as of 1st of January, 2020. Fishing vessels engaged in catching european eel shall obtain permit from the provincial directorate that issued vessel certificate. Article 48 is amended related to fishing vessels above 12 meters cannot engage in fishing activities with a fishing gear other than those specified in the license as the primary fishing gear as of 1st of September, 2020, in accordance with the principles to be determined by the Ministry.
