Abstract
The aim of this Regulation is to protect ecological balance, maintain consumer protection and to regulate, develop and extend organic production and marketing of organic products. The provisions of this Regulation refers to all kinds of organic plant, animal and aquaculture production the Regulation also covers the reaping of forest products in accordance with the principles of organic farming.The Regulation further provides for the implementation of principles and procedures of organic farming and defines the rules and procedures for the processing, packaging, labeling, storage, transportation, marketing, control, certification and inspection of organic products.

Entry into force notes
Articles 39 and 40 of this Regulation enters into force on the day the Regulation is published in the Official Journal, all other articles of this Regulation enters into force three months after they are published in the Official Journal. The provision prohibiting the usage of prefix such as bio, eco, org for non organic products (Paragraph. 5, Clause. (b), Article. 29) enters into force two years after the Regulation is published din the Official Journal.
