Abstract
The Principal Fisheries Regulations of 1989 are amended in regulation 16 by adding a new paragraph; "that the level of exploitation of any fishery is detrimental to the resources". Regulation 16 grants powers to the Director of Fisheries to cancel or revoke a licence or a permit on grounds specified. Regulation 25 is amended so as to declare contravention of any of the rules of regulation 25 to be an offence. Regulation 25 prohibits the use of dynamite, explosives or electric devices. The Fisheries (Inland Water) Regulations are amended so as to insert a definition of " fish breeding area".
