Abstract
Various new definitions are inserted in regulation 2 including "aquaculture products", "beach seine" and "fish processing establishment". Other amendments provide for inspection of fish processing establishments, the approval of such establishments, the application for a prawn fishing licence, and foreign fishing. In regulation 8 a new paragraph (2) is added: "No foreign fishing vessel shall enter the territorial waters with the intention of seeking or fishing licences either by way of change of ownership or change of vessel flag without the prior consent in writing by the Director of Fisheries". The Fourth Schedule is amended by adding fishing or harvesting of fish or aquatic flora from fish pond or a commercial farm to the list of methods exempted from taking a licence.
