Abstract
This Law defines the general legal, economic and organizational grounds of pedigree stockbreeding, aimed at improving pedigree and productive qualities of livestock, increasing the economic efficiency and competitiveness of this sphere. It regulates relations in the field of pedigree stockbreeding, defines the rights and obligations of owners and consumers of pedigree (genetic) resources, sets requirements for the quality and modalities of the use of the aforesaid resources, determines the selection system and the basis of state control over enforcement of the pedigree stockbreeding legislation, as well as the financing of the pedigree stockbreeding. Objects of pedigree stockbreeding shall be cattle, swine, sheep, goats, horses, poultry, fish, bees, silkworms, fur-bearing animals and rabbits, which are bred for the purpose of obtaining certain products from them. This Law consists of VII Sections. Section I lays down general provisions. Section II regards organization of pedigree stockbreeding. Section III sets forth requirements for pedigree (genetic) stockbreeding. Section IV deals with state management in the sphere of pedigree stockbreeding. Section V regards state supervision in the sphere of pedigree stockbreeding. Section VI deals with financing of state inspections in the sphere of pedigree stockbreeding and national selection program in the sphere of pedigree stockbreeding. Section VII lays down final provisions.
