Abstract
The Law aims at providing sustainable and safe supply of natural gas through the creation of a competitive market integrated with the regional and European markets able to offer high quality services and reasonable costs while meeting the environmental protection requirements.
The Law consists of 9 Chapters: General Provisions (1); Policies of the Natural Gas Sector (2); Regulation of the Natural Gas Sector (3); Activities in the Natural Gas Sector (4); Natural Gas Market (5); Public Service Obligations (6); Protection of the End Client and Dispute Resolution (7); Inspection, Oversight, and Sanctions (8); Final and Transitory Provisions (9).
This Law is fully approximated with Directive 2009/73/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 July 2009 concerning common rules for the internal market in natural gas. It establishes policies, standards, and procedures for the organization and regulation of the natural gas market and natural gas activities (i.e. production, transmission, distribution, storage, supply, consumption of natural gas and the construction and operation of the natural gas infrastructure).
