Presidential Decree No. 177/20 approving the Statute of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MINAGRIP).

This Presidential Decree approves the Statute of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MINAGRIP). This Statute, consisting of 25 articles divided into four Chapters and two Annexes, establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Ministry, entitled to perform the following activities: proposing, formulating, conducting, executing, evaluating, controlling and supervising the Executive's policies in the fields of agriculture, livestock, forests, food security, management and planning of aquatic biological resources, sustainable fishing and aquaculture activities, salt production, etc. In addition, the Ministry is responsible to carry out research, experimentation and technological innovation in the area of the sea, prospecting, use, exploitation and enhancement of aquatic resources, and a sustainable sea economy, in a perspective of sustainable national development. The Decree regulates ministerial organization in general and in particular, the functioning, the advisory support bodies, the direct executive services, the oversight bodies, etc.
