Decree of 30 December 2010 extending the National Park of "Serra das Confusões" within the State of Piauí.

This Decree extends the limits of the National Park of "Serra das Confusões" incorporating lands within the municipalities of: Guaribas, Santa Luz, Cristino Castro, Alvorada do Gurguéia, Canto do Buriti, Tamboril do Piauí, Brejo do Piauí, Jurema, Caracol, Redenção de Gurguéia, Curimatá and Bom Jesus, all within the State of Piauí. It consists of 10 articles establishing new geographical limits of the above mentioned protected area (for a total of 823.435,70 ha). Its main purposes are: to preserve local natural ecosystems of great ecological relevance, its natural heritage, endemic wildlife and habitats carrying out relevant scientific research programmes. New geographical coordinates are specified in the text. Development and forestry activities shall be regulated by art. 10 of Decree No. 5.975 and art. 19 of Law No. 4.771. Control and management shall be under the competence of the Chico Mendes Institute.
