Abstract
This Law is composed of 83 articles divided in nine Chapters. It defines general objectives for the National Energy Policy. In particular, it institutes the National Council for Energy policy and regulates its powers and functions. The Law institutes also the National Agency for Oil, Natural Gas and Biofuels. Moreover, it rules on production and exploitation as well as on concession procedures and contractual arrangements. Particular attention is devoted to oil refinery and natural gas processing as well as their transportation, importation and exportion. Finally, the Law rules on Petrobras, the National Company for oil and derived products.
Entry into force notes
This Law enters into force on the date of its publication.
