Resolution No. 255 of the Council of Ministers On measures to implement the Law No. 326-Z amending Wildlife Law (No. 257-Z).

This Resolution amends some legislative acts and validates the Regulation on the procedure and conditions for registering facilities for ranching and captive breeding of wild fauna species. Ministerial Decree No. 698 validating the Regulation on capture of wild fauna for captive breeding, release, introduction, re-introduction, acclimatization and cross-breeding shall be amended to add the following wording: “Capture of wild animals belonging to species included in the national Red Book is carried out on the basis of permits for the capture of wild animals and harvesting of wild plants belonging to species included in the national Red Book, and removal thereof from their habitat and growing areas, issued by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection in order, established by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus”.
Ministerial Decree No. 699 validating the Regulation on capture, procurement and (or) trade of wild fauna species that are not subject to hunting and fishing shall be supplemented with the following wording: “Local executive and administrative body within 30 calendar days from the date of the auction, makes a decision on granting the right to capture and (or) purchase of wild animals not related to hunting and fishing”.
Ministerial Decree No. 126 regarding some issues of management of protected animal species shall be amended to add the following wording: “Regulation on the procedure and conditions for registration of wild animals kept and (or) bred in captivity (including their offspring that have reached the age of three months), related to species included in the national Red Book, or being specimens of CITES, as well as wild animals, the capture of which for the purpose of keeping and (or) breeding in captivity is carried out on the basis of a permit for removal of wild animals from their habitat”.
Ministerial Decree No. 1672 implementing Presidential Decree No. 386 amending Presidential Decree No. 580 on hunting and fishing shall be amended to add the following wording: “Conditions for keeping wild animals in demonstration and other enclosures must comply with the requirements for keeping wild animals established Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection”.
Regulation on the procedure and conditions for registering facilities for ranching and captive breeding of wild fauna species establishes that facilities for keeping and (or) breeding wild animals include: hunting enclosures, holding enclosures, facilities used for fur farming, livestock farming, poultry farming, fishfarming, where are kept and (or) bred for the purpose of further use in economic activities, wild animals belonging to species included in the national Red Book, or are CITES specimens (with the exception of sturgeon species of fish), wild animals caught for the purpose of keeping and (or) breeding in captivity, is carried out on the basis of permission to remove wild animals from their natural habitat issued by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection. Registration of facilities for breeding of sturgeon fish species and production of fish products, including caviar, shall be performed by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection. Fish products obtained from sturgeon fish species, including caviar, shall be labelled with CITES mark.
