Abstract
The purpose of the present Law is to ensure the implementation of the federal legislation on water protection, and to regulate the allocation of tasks between local and cantonal authorities. The text consists of 45 articles divided into 9 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Discharge and treatment of waste water (II); Protected water zones (III); Handling of polluting liquids (IV); Prevention and reparation of damage (V); Contribution by Cantons (VI); Legal protection (VII); Penalties (VIII); Final provisions (IX).
Entry into force notes
The present Law enters into force on 1 October 1997.
Notes
The present Law is consolidated as of 1 December 2012.
