Measures of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region for the mine geological environment control and improvement.

These Measures are enacted in accordance with the Regulations on Land Reclamation of China, the Regulations of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Geological Environmental Protection, aiming to reduce the damage of mine geological environment caused by mineral resources exploitation and protect mine geological environment. The Measures consist of 37 Articles divided into 4 Chapters: General provisions; Mine geological environment control and improvement; Collection and management of security deposit; Legal liabilities.
The term "mine geological environment control and improvement" as mentioned in these Measures includes mine geological environment protection and restoration, control and improvement, and mine land reclamation. The geological environment management plan of the mine shall conform to the overall plan of land use, urban and rural planning and overall planning of mineral resources, and be coordinated with geological disaster prevention planning and land remediation planning. The applicant for mining right shall submit a plan for mine geological environment control when applying for a mining license. Mining right holders engaged in mining mineral resources within the administrative areas of the autonomous region shall set up security deposits for mine geological environment control and improvement.
