Regulations no. 324 of 2010, Concerning Chemical Substances (Classification, Packaging and Labelling of Hazardous Substances and Mixtures).

These Regulations provide for harmonising Cyprus Legislation with the following European Law: Council Directive 67/548/EEC on the approximation of laws, regulations and administrative provisions relating to the classification, packaging and labelling of dangerous substances, and its further amendments; Directive 1999/45/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council concerning the approximation of the laws, regulations and administrative provisions of the Member States relating to the classification, packaging and labelling of dangerous preparations; Directive 2004/10/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the harmonisation of laws, regulations and administrative provisions relating to the application of the principles of good laboratory practice and the verification of their applications for tests on chemical substances.
Part A of the Regulations concerns the following matters: hazardous substances; testing and evaluation of properties of substances; classification of substances; measures for the disposal of chemical substances; obligation to mark products; packaging requirements to place on the market dangerous substances. Part B of the Regulations concerns: hazardous waste; definitions of dangerous properties of waste; area of application of this Part; risk assessment of hazardous waste disposal, including environmental impact; classification and labelling of waste; compliance with Animal (Scientific Experiments) Law no. 30/I of 1995; level of toxicity and poisoning of waste; effects on human and animal health. Part C concerns application of the principles of good laboratory practice, and control of their application during the testing of chemical substances. Part D concerns offences, penalties and legal procedures.
