Abstract
The provisions of this Order relate to the granting of subsidies for the maintenance of wetlands. The purpose of the Order is to improve water and nature through their maintenance by reducing the nitrogen load as determined by water plannings for each water catchment. The Danish AgriFish Agency shall authorize the granting of subsidies for agricultural and natural areas which are part of projects regulated by the Agency's subsidy regulations for municipal wetland projects or on subsidies for private enterprises for wetland projects. Applicants for the financial support shall enter into commitment from the period starting 1 September of the calendar year in which the project must be completed to 31 August of 20 years later. Criteria for granting the subsidy shall be based on: 1) that the area is not under other commitment periods or funded under other legislative rules; 2) that the area is not regulated under Order No. 140 of 10 March 2005 or earlier regulations on subsidies for agri-environmental measures, Order No. 84 of 27 January 2005, Order No. 883 of 31 October 2002, or earlier regulations on subsidies for organic farming, Order No. 893 of 22 September 2005 on subsidies for environmentally-friendly management of wetlands; 3) that the area is not under commitment on subsidies on buffer zones for environment-related grants or the maintaining of changed drainage under the Rural Development Act; 4) that the area is not regulated in adherence to article 68 of Council Regulation (EC) No. 73/2009, for extensive agriculture, establishment of perennial energy crops or the maintenance of permanent pasture.
