Abstract
By way of derogation from article 3(1) and (2) of Directive 66/401/EEC, this Directive allows Member States to authorize the marketing of mixtures of various genera, species and subspecies of fodder plants, intended for use in the preservation of the natural environment in the context of the conservation of genetic resources. The Directive further sets out requirements to be fulfilled by directly harvested preservation mixtures (art. 5) and crop-grown preservation mixtures (art. 6). Further provisions concern quantitative restrictions to marketing and labelling on packages and containers of preservation mixtures.
