Abstract
The Commission has adopted this Regulation in implementation of Directive 97/78/EC, which establishes general principles in matter of veterinary checks to be performed on products of animal origin (including by-products of animal origin) and plant products entering the Community from third countries. The documentary checks and the laboratory checks as well as analyses of official samples shall be performed in compliance with Annexes I and II hereto. Article 2 is concerned with the notification of arrival of products by means of the Common Veterinary Entry Document (CVED), which is set out in Annex III. Article 3 describes the procedure to be followed after completion of the veterinary checks. Article 9 refers to veterinary checks of certain plant products.
